NORFOLK - Jodi Gidley was promoted to vice president operations at Virginia Natural Gas June 3, 2002. She is the first woman in the company’s history to hold the position. She will be responsible for field services, distribution, meter reading and related customer services and peak shaving operations in addition to her current duties in finance, planning and budgeting.

“Jodi has a proven track record of success in several areas of the company,” said Hank Linginfelter, Virginia Natural Gas president. “She will bring tremendous depth and skill to the role.”

Gidley joined Virginia Natural Gas in September 1986 in the Gas Supply Department. She became manager finance, planning and budgeting in 1993 and was promoted to director of that same area in 2001.

She holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Old Dominion University. She serves as a board member of the d’Art Center in Norfolk.
